Welcome to the Virginia Chapter of the Association of Physical Plant Administrators (VAPPA).

VAPPA is the gathering place for educational facilities professionals, dedicated to the ongoing evolution of the profession across the state of Virginia.

We are a network of facilities management professionals working in a range of educational contexts: university, college, community college, K-12, and vocational-technical.

We represent institutions from all around the Commonwealth, both public and private. We promote APPA’s mission of Leadership in Educational Facilities within Virginia. VAPPA is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. We seek participation at all levels of facilities management.

  • Hold our annual conference in Williamsburg, VA
  • Hold regional conferences throughout the Commonwealth
  • Provide training and educational programs to benefit all members, at both the trades and managerial levels
  • Foster networking and sharing of knowledge and best practices among our members
  • Promote open dialogue between facilities managers and business partners
  • Grow our membership within educational facilities personnel across Virginia
  • Develop future leaders to keep VAPPA relevant and ensure a robust pool of board member candidates
  • Maintain a financially stable organization, with transparent governance

Membership to VAPPA is Free

Be a part of VAPPA and join us at our annual conference, and get updates about educational and professional development opportunities. 

VAPPA membership is open and free to all employees of educational institutions in the state of Virginia that are members of APPA or SRAPPA.

If your institution is not part of APPA or SRAPPA you can still participate free of charge with access to conferences and other events. (Only institutional members may participate in voting or be nominated for board membership.)
